Herbie Hancock To Make ‘Austin City Limits’ Debut

PBS continues season 43 of Austin City Limits this weekend with an episode featuring Herbie Hancock. The airing marks the first time the renowned jazz pianist has appeared on the long-running live concert program.

The 77-year-old Hancock was joined at The Moody Theater in Austin, Texas by bassist James Genus, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta and saxophonist/keyboardist Terrace Martin. The episode will present performances of Hancock favorites “Cantaloupe Island” and “Overture,” the newer “Secret Sauce” and the all-time fusion classic “Chameleon.”
