Harris Wittels was a comedian, writer, producer and podcaster who never hid his love of Phish and the jam scene ahead of his tragic death in 2015. He not only wore Phish t-shirts on Parks And Recreation, a show for which we was a writer and executive producer, but he also launched a multi-part podcast called Analyze Phish. Wittels’s sister, Stephanie Wittels Wachs, will honor her brother with the inaugural Harris Phest at 8th Wonder Brewery on April 20 in Houston. April 20th would have been Harris’s 33rd birthday.

Harris Phest will feature a performance from Phish cover band A Live One, a beer named after the “humblebrag” term he created, sets from comedians, readings of scenes from Parks And Rec as well as a segment highlighting his best tweets according to Entertainment Weekly. Money raised at Harris Phest will be donated to the Harris Wittels Fund.

“It’s easy to be sad about Harris no longer being with us,” Wittels Wachs told Entertainment Weekly. “I feel unrelenting sadness every day. But the fact remains that Harris didn’t make people sad. He made people laugh, smile, and relish in being alive. So on his birthday, we want to celebrate him.”
