Hardly Strictly Bluegrass | Tweedy, Yo La Tengo & Emmylou Harris

Each Friday for the past two weeks the organizers of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass have shared a medley of 10 songs, each from a different act that will play this year’s festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park between October 3 and 5. Today, HSB organizers have confirmed the 10 acts featured in last week’s medley and they include Jeff Tweedy’s Tweedy, Yo La Tengo and Emmylou Harris.

Lucinda Williams, Deltron 3030 with The 3030 Orchestra, Rose’s Pawn Shop, Jerry Douglas Presents The Earls of Leicester, Cibo Matto and St. Paul & The Broken Bones are the other acts from last week’s medley who have been confirmed for Hardly Strictly Blugrass ’14. Songs from Parker Millsap, Mccrary Sisters, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Kate York, Doug Seegers, Nikki Lane, Striking Matches, Shelly Colvin, Shawn Colvin and Buddy Miller were each included in the first medley.

So here’s how the lineup currently lays out with two more medleys to go:

The 2014 installment of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass will take place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park October 3 -5. Warren Hellman, who passed away in 2011, founded and funded the free festival. It was first held in 2001 and has returned each year to Golden Gate Park.
