Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Expands 2019 Lineup

Hot Tuna, The Infamous Stringdusters and Hiss Golden Messenger are among the latest additions to the 2019 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass lineup. The free music festival will be held October 4 – 6 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

The Long Ryders, Poor Man’s Whiskey, Caitlin Canty, Bedouine, Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express and Tank & The Bangas have also been added to the lineup. In addition, Kronos Quartet will be joined by special guests Brian Carpenter, Lee Knight, Mixlit, Aoife O’Donovan and the San Francisco Girls Chorus for a set in honor of Pete Seeger’s 100th birthday. All 10 acts were revealed via a musical medley containing portions of songs by each artist that was shared on the event’s website and through its app.

Robert Plant, Margo Price, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Jackie Greene, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Tanya Tucker and The Milk Carton Kids are among the HSB ’19 acts previously revealed. A full lineup announcement is forthcoming. The event was started by philanthropist Warren Hellman in 2001. Check out the graphics below for the 40 acts confirmed thus far:
