Today, drummer Neil Peart of Rush celebrates his 65th birthday. Peart seems to be retired from the road as he last performed with the legendary Canadian trio at The Forum in Inglewood, California on August 1, 2015. Rush finished the R40 North American Tour that night and haven’t taken the stage together since.
It has been said Peart doesn’t even have a drum set at home these days, yet the one he used on the R40 Tour was massive. Neil gave the CBC a tour of his drum set back in 2014. You don’t have to be a drummer to enjoy this video:
David Kaffinetti, aka Viv Savage from Spinal Tap, joined Umphrey’s McGee at two points in Oakland on Friday including on a Spinal Tap song UM hadn’t played since 2004.
