Happy Birthday David Bowie: New Album Released

Influential and innovative musician David Bowie turns 69 years old today. For his birthday, Bowie has shared a gift for the rest of the world in the form of the release of his 28th studio album ★ (pronounced “Blackstar”).

The follow-up to his well-received 2013 LP The Next Day, ★ features seven original songs, including the nearly 10-minute opening title track and re-recorded versions of “Sue (Or in a Season of Crime)” and “Tis a Pity She Was a Whore.” Bowie again teamed up with longtime collaborator and producer Tony Visconti and the record has contributions from LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, Tedeschi Trucks Band bassist Tim Lefebvre as well as jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin and others.
