Happy Birthday Cat Stevens | Live At The BBC

Cat Stevens, who goes by the name Yusuf Islam these days, was born on this date in 1948. Stevens released a number of top-selling albums in the early ’70s before he converted to Islam and left his career as a pop singer behind him. In recent years he has embraced his singer-songwriting career once more and even embarked on his first U.S. tour since 1978 last year. Let’s look back at a Cat Stevens performance from 1971 that aired on The BBC.
