Happy Birthday Alex Lifeson: Highlights From Rush’s Time Machine Tour 2011

Co-founding Rush member, guitarist Alex Lifeson was born 65 years ago today. The talented “Musical Scientist” of the acclaimed Canadian progressive rock trio was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with bassist Geddy Lee and drummer Neil Peart in 2013. The band has been dormant since the conclusion of their 40th anniversary tour in 2015.

For Lifeson’s birthday today, below is a collection of professionally-shot video highlights from the officially released DVD Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland. The footage captures the trio in action on April 15, 2011 at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena. The tour featured Rush’s complete performance of their popular 1981 album Moving Pictures, including “Limelight” and their hit “Tom Sawyer.”
