Northern Irish singer Van Morrison was born on this date in 1945 making today his 70th birthday. “Van The Man” rose to fame as leader of R&B act Them and then embarked on a hugely successful solo career. The prolific Morrison has covered much musical ground over the past 50 years from the soul and R&B hits that first put him on the map to Celtic and jazz-oriented compositions of more recent years.
