Halsey Performs New Song ‘Carry The Weight’ At Salt Lake City Concert

Halsey had a special feeling about the crowd at last night’s For My Last Trick Tour concert in Salt Lake City. The pop star decided to treat fans to the premiere of “Carry The Weight,” their second new song since the release of The Great Impersonator last fall.

The guitar-driven rocker “Carry The Weight” was debuted during Halsey’s four-song encore at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre. Halsey addressed the audience before performing the song.

“This crowd could be the very first people to hear a brand new song,” Halsey said. “I’ve been secretly soundchecking it for the entire tour waiting for the right moment and I just had a really good feeling about you guys.”

Halsey revealed the song’s name and launched into “Carry The Weight.” The tune comes on the heels of “Safeword,” a single they put out in February.

“Carry The Weight” is an anthemic tune with an infectious hook in which Halsey sings the title. While most of the song features heavy electric guitar, there’s an acoustic section just before its conclusion.

Halsey now heads to Washington state for concerts in Ridgefield on Thursday and Auburn on Saturday. The North American leg of the For My Last Trick Tour ends in California next weekend.
