This week’s Spotify Playlist the theme was an obvious choice: Halloween. The 31-tracks collected for October 31st that make up the Halloween Treats playlist below center by lyrics or title on ghosts and goblins, witches and vampires, zombies and monsters, devils and all things that will get you in the mood for All Hallows’ Eve.
Many of our favorites like Phish (whose “Ghost” from Halloween 1998 seemed particularly fitting), Dave Matthews Band, Ryan Adams, Wilco and Elvis Costello & The Roots are represented in the playlist. There are also well-known cuts from legends like Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, The Who, Eric Clapton, The Velvet Underground, Santana, David Bowie and others.
Halloween staples making the collection include Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves Of London,” The Edgar Winter Group’s instrumental “Frankenstein,” The Classic IV’s “Spooky,” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and the opening track, the “Ghostbusters Theme” by Ray Parker, Jr. There are plenty more ghoulish treats for you to feast your ears on, rounding out the two hour and 15 minute set below.
