HAIM shared a new single, “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache.” The song appears on the soundtrack for the upcoming Netflix film, The Last Letter From Your Lover, set for release on July 23.

“Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” is Este Haim, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim’s first new music since releasing the expanded version of their 2020 album Women In Music, Part III, which arrived in February, and was produced and co-written with Ariel Rechtshaid. When asked by The Last Letter From Your Lover producers for a list of her favorite artists, HAIM topped director Augustine Frizzell’s list.

“I’m a huge fan of their music,” Frizzell said in a press release. “It has a feel that’s both modern and retro and felt like Ellie’s world.”

Ellie is the main character in the film played by Felicity Jones. The scene where “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” plays sees Ellie in a taxi cab. HAIM also spoke about writing the song for the scene.

“The scene we were making the song for was all about movement, so we felt like we needed a traveling beat, which spurred the initial idea,” the sisters said in a statement. “Augustine said she wanted something playful, so it was really a collaborative effort.”
