Guns N’ Roses released a studio version of “ABSUЯD” on Thursday just days after performing the “new song” live at Boston's Fenway Park on Tuesday night. “ABSUЯD” marks the first new music shared by the group in 13 years and since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined GN’R in 2016.
The song is a reworked take on “Silkworms,” a track that dates back to the sessions for 2008’s Chinese Democracy. Guns N’ Roses played “Silkworms” live four times in 2001. The band performed “ABSUЯD” again on Thursday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Last night’s concert also saw frontman Axl Rose pay tribute to Biz Markie by bookending “November Rain” with the chorus of “Just A Friend” and dedicating “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” to the late rapper.

Few details were shared with “ABSUЯD,” which arrived with an accompanying video and is available for streaming on all major platforms. The full band is credited with writing the song produced by Rose and Caram Costanzo, who also co-helmed Chinese Democracy with Axl. Former GN’R drummer Bryan “Brain” Mantia contributed to “ABSUЯD.”
