Pink Floyd founding member Roger Waters was welcomed as a guest DJ on an episode of NPR’s All Songs Considered. He was tasked “to play music by those he love[s] and talk about what draws him to song.”

Speaking with hosts Bob Boilen and Robin Hilton, songs are selected by Billie Holiday, Sam Cooke and John Prine, as well as a couple of Pink Floyd and Waters’ solo cuts. The discussion between songs touches on such controversial topics as drug laws, Israel and Palestine, Donald Trump and his dislike of streaming platforms like Spotify. Waters also mentions the prospects of a new solo album in the near future, his recent performances with My Morning Jacket, his upcoming Us And Them Tour and more.
