GRiZ Announces Indefinite Hiatus From Touring & Project To Start In October

GRiZ announced he will take an indefinite hiatus from touring and “the GRiZ project” beginning in October 2023. The highly influential DJ, producer and saxophonist shared the news today via social media.

Hailing from the Detroit area, GRiZ (Grant Kwiecinski) began playing saxophone and piano while still in school. After graduating high school, Kwiecinski attended Michigan State University where he began DJing parties. Heavily influenced by funk bands like The Meters, Kwiecinski helped pioneer the thriving “electro-soul” and “future funk” electronic subgenres.

The artist that would become known as GRiZ dropped out of college and moved to Colorado to pursue a successful music career, as he noted in his hiatus announcement. Read below:
