Greensky Bluegrass Welcomes Adam Greuel In Lincoln

The Pinewood Bowl Theater in Lincoln, Nebraska hosted the inaugural The Great Pinewood Bluegrass Festival on Sunday. Greensky Bluegrass headlined the event, which also featured sets from The Devil Makes Three, Mandolin Orange and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. A collaboration came early in Greensky’s set when the band welcomed guitarist and vocalist Adam Greuel of Horseshoes & Hand Grenades.

Greensky opened their performance in Lincoln with a cover of “Handle With Care” by the Traveling Wilburys. Then, Greuel emerged to lend a hand on GSBG classic “I’ll Probably Kill You.” Next, the sit-in was followed by the five-piece performing a cover of Ralph Stanley’s “Clinch Mountain Backstep.” The Michigan-based band continued on with a pairing of “Living Over” and “Bottle Dry” ahead of their rendition of “How Mountain Girls Can Love.”

Mandolin player Paul Hoffman led his mates on “What’s Left Of The Night” by Benny “Burle” Galloway as GSBG’s lone set rolled on. The group then went with “Miss September,” “Take Cover” and “Run Or Die” off 2016’s Shouted, Written Down & Quoted to close out the frame. For the encore, Greensky Bluegrass delivered their beloved cover of “Atlantic City” by Bruce Springsteen. This weekend, the quintet plays both DelFest and the Summer Camp Music Festival.
