Michigan jamgrass act Greensky Bluegrass continued Fall Tour last night at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine. The band debuted an original, collaborated with members of opening act Fruition and jammed on a Phish classic as part of their visit to Portland.

Today, Greensky has released their latest studio album, Shouted, Written Down & Quoted. Early in last night’s first set the group unveiled the live version of the LP’s third track – “While Waiting.” Fruition’s Kellen Asebroek emerged at the end of the first set to add keyboards to the set-closing duo of “Tuesday Letter” and “You Can Call Me Al” (Paul Simon). The latter featured Greensky’s Anders Beck on steel drum synth according to a fan report.

Greensky Bluegrass kicked off the second set in Portland with a cover of John Hartford’s “Steam Powered Aeroplane.” The band was then joined by Fruition’s Jay Cobb Anderson on “Butcher’s Girl” and “Fixin’ To Ruin.” After Jay vacated the stage, Greensky Bluegrass embarked on a cover of Traffic’s “Light Up Or Leave Me Alone” that featured “Reuben’s Train” and a jam on “Tweezer Reprise” by Phish within. The tour continues tonight at Higher Ground in Burlington.
