Today, Greensky Bluegrass released The Leap Year Sessions: Volume Two. The live collection captures the quintet’s third and fourth of eight Leap Year Sessions livestream performances from The Pageant in St. Louis.

Greensky shared The Leap Year Sessions: Volume One back in March and JamBase was pleased to premiere the preview track, “Windshield.” The band now follows with Volume Two which features their sets from August 21 and August 28.

August 21 kicked off with the staples “Just To Lie” and “Train Junkie” and also features the title track and “Do It It Alone” from Greensky’s latest album, All For Money. Addtionally, the set includes covers from The Stanley Brothers, The Rolling Stones and more.

August 28 saw GSBG continuing with a number of choice covers, getting things underway with a pair of songs by Tears For Fears and John Hartford. The set also included the debut of a John Prine classic, as per Phantasy Tour.

“We’d never gone that long without playing music or seeing each other,” noted mandolinist Paul Hoffman. “We talked about all the things we could do to play shows, socially distanced safe shows, but it wasn’t safe for people to be together, so we thought we would do a series of live streams.”

“We tackled 8 full sessions with no repeats,” guitarist Dave Bruzza added. “2020, will not go undocumented. Certainly, it won’t be forgotten.”
