Greensky Bluegrass Dedicates ‘No Expectations’ To Jeff Austin

Greensky Bluegrass swung through Red Butte Garden in Salt Lake City on Thursday night where they paid tribute to Jeff Austin with a debut performance of The Rolling Stones’ “No Expectations,” a song often covered by Austin — including during his time with Yonder Mountain String Band. The next night, at Kettlehouse Amphitheater in Bonner, Montana, GSBG debuted a cover of YMSB’s “Dawn’s Early Light.”

Friday’s concert also saw Greensky welcome members of opening act The Lil Smokies throughout the latter’s home state show. Fiddler Jake Simpson joined Greensky on “All Four” and dobro player Andy Dunigan sat-in on a “Reuben’s Train“ that included a cover of Dawes’ “Quitter” within. Greensky and The Lil Smokies also teamed up for the encore of “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.”
