Greensky Bluegrass recently performed for Garden & Gun Magazine’s Back Porch Sessions. The string quintet delivered the set during Darius Rucker‘s Riverfront Revival festival in North Charleston, South Carolina in October 2023.
GSBG’s latest Back Porch Session saw the band offering two songs from their 2022 album Stress Dreams along with a track from their 2011 album Handguns. The band — mandolinist Paul Hoffman, guitarist Dave Bruzza, banjo player Michael Bont, bassist Mike Devol and dobro player Anders Beck — kicked off the session with Stress Dreams’ “Worry For You.”

Bruzza then led the band through Handguns’ “Blood Sucking F(r)iends” before Hoffman fielded the question “Tour with Greensky, what’s that like?”
“Have you ever seen the movie Goonies?” Paul asked. “You know when they go on an adventure and they’re down there and they’re like ‘Up there, it’s their time. But down here, this is our time!'” The rest of the band then named a movie describing Greensky tour.
Next, GSBG returned to Stress Dreams to wrap the session with “Reasons To Stay.” Watch Greensky Bluegrass perform for Garden & Gun’s Back Porch Sessions below:
