Grateful Dead Three From The Vault Coming To Vinyl

Following up on previous vinyl releases of One From The Vault and Two From The Vault, Light In The Attic records will the Grateful Dead’s Three From The Vault on vinyl for the first time on March 24. The upcoming release was first reported by Jambands.com, who notes the set contains the Grateful Dead’s February 19, 1971 concert at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York which featured the debuts of “Bird Song” and “Deal.”

The 4-LP set as well as many bundles are available for pre-order now via Light In The Attic’s website. Three From The Vault on vinyl is housed in a gatefold, tip-on jacket. The vinyl set was newly re-mastered by Joe Gastwirt, with lacquers cut by Kevin Gray. Originally issued in 2007, Three From The Vault not only contains the previously-mentioned debuts but also such classics as “That’s It For The Other One,” “China Cat Sunflower” > “I Know You Rider” and “Casey Jones.” The Dead’s February 19, 1971 performance featured the five-piece lineup of Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Ron “Pigpen” McKernan and Phil Lesh.
