Last week Grateful Dead fans from around the country assembled at theaters nationwide for Fathom Events’ annual Meet-Up At The Movies. This year’s gathering featured a 40th anniversary cut of the Grateful Dead Movie. In addition, a mini-documentary about the Dead’s famed May 8, 1977 show at Barton Hall on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York was premiered. The Grateful Dead and Rhino Records have shared the feature on YouTube.
Titled simply The Grateful Dead: Cornell ’77, the mini-documentary spans approximately eight minutes. We hear from a number of fans who attended the magical show to describe their experience at Barton Hall. The mini-doc also includes many never-before-seen photos from Cornell ’77.
