According to a series of tweets by Grateful Dead lyricist and political activist John Perry Barlow, the 67-year-old suffered cardiac arrest earlier this week and nearly died. Barlow, who collaborated with Bob Weir on many classic Dead songs such as “The Music Never Stopped,” “Throwing Stones” and “Cassidy,” looks to be recovering in a hospital.

As his first tweet indicates, it appears the situation was quite serious for the founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation on Wednesday evening. Ensuing tweets seem to show Barlow is on the road to recovery after the health scare.
