The Grateful Dead shared pro-shot video featuring a cover of Bobby Womack’s “It’s All Over Now” as this week’s installment in the band’s All The Years Live video series. The footage comes from the Dead’s July 16, 1990 concert at Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, New York near Buffalo.

The Valentinos and Bobby Womack had a hit with “It’s All Over Now” in 1964. The Rolling Stones would then score their first No. 1 with a cover of the song that same year.

In his notes accompanying the video, Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux compares GD’s version of “It’s All Over Now” to another Dead rendition of a Stones song.

When “It’s All Over Now” first appeared in Grateful Dead sets in 1976, it was the perfect addition to the Bob-sung part of first sets. It was quite a bit different than any other Bob song: not an original, not a blues song, not a cowboy song. When “The Last Time” arrived in 1990, it was the same feeling, another Bob rocker, although “The Last Time” bounced around the setlist quite a bit, whereas “It’s All Over Now” was a first set song.
