The Grateful Dead shared video featuring a rare standalone performance of “Fire On The Mountain” without “Scarlet Begonias” for this week’s installment of the All The Years Live series. “Fire” was filmed on Halloween 1980 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City during the last show of an eight-concert stand at the legendary venue.
“A rare ‘Fire’ without ‘Scarlet,’ this version comes out of ‘Space’ on the final night of the Dead’s five+ weeks of shows at the Warfield and Radio City Music Hall, during which the Dead played three sets per night,” GD archivist David Lemieux noted. “This was included on the electric album from these shows, Dead Set.”
