Grateful Dead ‘Dave’s Picks Volume 33’ Features 1977 Show
Grateful Dead 2020 Dave’s Picks subscriptions have been put up for sale on Dead.net. The announcement included word Dave’s Picks Voume 33, expected early next year, will feature an official recording of the band’s October 29, 1977 show at Evans Field House on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.
Dave’s Picks subscribers will receive the 33rd – 36th installments of the live archival series, each of which are due for release in 2020. The discounted bundle also includes a bonus disc and free shipping. Dave’s Picks Volume 33 through Volume 36 will be issued quarterly.
The Grateful Dead’s performance in DeKalb opens with a stellar “Might As Well” and continues with such beloved favorites as “Jack Straw,” “Loser,” “Ramble On Rose” and “Let It Grow.” Dekalb’s second set is best known for the standout versions of “Eyes Of The World,” “Saint Stephen,” and “Black Peter” included within. The concert was the second night of the Dead’s Fall Tour 1977.
