The Grateful Dead kicked off their 30 Days Of Dead series featuring unreleased tracks from the vault given away each day in November. All tracks can be downloaded for free as high-quality MP3 downloads or streamed via Dead.net.
Each track has been picked expressly for the series by Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux. 30 Days Of Dead began in 2010 and has been a November tradition ever since. Fans can download all 30 tracks through a ZIP file at the end of the month.

The 30 Days Of Dead series also includes a trivia element. Each day the track will be posted without the date or venue listed. A form at the bottom of the 30 Days Of Dead page allows fans to guess the date and venue. A winner from those who answer correctly will be selected at random each day to win a 2024 Grateful Dead Wall Calendar. Then, at the end of the series, a Grand Prize winner will receive a copy of the sold-out Here Comes Sunshine box set.
Up first for the Grateful Dead’s 30 Days Of Dead series is a version of the Hunter/Garcia ballad “Comes A Time.” The audio comes accompanied with a hint. “A song that first appeared in 1971 and came and went from the repertoire. It was rare enough that it was always a newsworthy song when the Dead played it right up to its final performance in 1994,” noted today’s hint.
