Grace Potter Announces New Album ‘Daylight’ & Shares Single

Grace Potter shared a new single entitled “Love Is Love.” The track will appear on the singer-songwriter’s upcoming new solo album, Daylight, which comes out on October 25.
Potter’s previous solo album, Midnight, was released in 2015. Since then, Potter got divorced and remarried, experiences that informed the new album. Potter’s husband Eric Valentine produced the 11 tracks making up Daylight. Four of the songs on Daylight feature Lucius vocalists Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe. Keyboardist Benmont Tench also contributed to the new record.
“I’ve always aimed to write songs from a universal perspective; so that anyone who heard my music could relate, but that actually made it harder for me to take ownership of my own perspective,” Potter told Rolling Stone. “These songs were written so I could process — and be accountable for — my own life experience. I had just pulled the ripcord on my whole life. It was an incredibly jarring, private experience. When the dust settled a bit, the last thing I wanted to do was tell the whole world about it through song. It was a very gradual process of re-framing music and its purpose in my life.”
Filmed at YouTube Space Los Angeles and directed and produced by Laurence Jacobs, the “Love Is Love” video can be viewed below:
