The Allman Brothers Band’s summer tour rolled into Virginia Beach last night for a performance at Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach that featured support from fellow JamBase favorites Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. While the two acts didn’t collaborate at their first date together, back on Monday in Alpharetta, Potter sat in with the Allmans last night on a The Band classic.

The Nocturnals kicked off the evening with an 80-minute set that included covers of Heart’s “Crazy On You” and the Spencer Davis Group’s “Gimme Some Lovin’.” Gregg Allman and Co. brought the show to a close with a set laden with some of the Allman Brothers Band’s most beloved songs such as “Jessica,” “Southbound,” “Midnight Rider” and “Blue Sky.” Potter emerged towards the end of the set to lend a hand on a cover of The Band’s “The Weight.”

Warren Haynes and Potter now head to Arrington, VA to perform at the inaugural Lockn’ Festival.
