Rising 17-year-old guitarist Grace Bowers released her debut single entitled “Tell Me Why U Do That.” The track was produced by Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne.

Bowers’ single arrives in advance of her upcoming Grand Ole Opry debut, which will coincide with her 18th birthday on July 30. The track sees the talented guitarist accompanied by her backing band The Hodge Podge. The song was co-written by written by Bowers, Osborne, Lucie Silvas, Meg Mcree and Ben Chapman. An album is expected later this year.

“Guitar is an extension of me and a way to communicate my feelings,” Bowers stated. “It’s all about the feel, especially when I’m playing blues. I’m just trying to have my own voice on the guitar. When you listen to me, I hope you hear the authenticity. I’m never trying to imitate anybody else. I’m just trying to make the music I want to make.”

In addition to her pending Opry debut, Bowers will make appearances at several festivals over the coming months. Bowers, a Bay Area native now residing in Nashville, is also slated to support select dates with Chris Shiflett and Elle King. On June 10, Bowers will host “An Evening Supporting Love, Life & Music,” a special benefit concert held at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl supporting Voices for a Safer Tennessee and MusiCares.
