Last night Gov’t Mule and Blackberry Smoke continued their Smokin’ Mule Tour at Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, California. During Mule’s performance they were joined by guitarist Toshi Yanagi and later in the show debuted a Bob Dylan cover as part of the encore with Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr again sitting-in.

“World Boss” opened Mule’s main set Sunday night, followed by takes on “Lay Your Burden Down,” “Steppin’ Lightly” and “World Of Difference.” After covering The Band, Bob Marley and Creedence Clearwater Revival, Mule brought out Jimmy Kimmel Live! guitarist Toshi Yanagi to augment “Sco-Mule.” The quartet led by guitarist Warren Haynes later brought their set to a close with a progression that began with “Mule” and transitioned to a rendition of “Who Do You Love?” that included a rendering of “Whole Lotta Love” within, before returning to close out “Mule.”

Gov’t Mule’s encore again featured help from Blackberry Smoke, with Charlie Starr sitting-in on guitar for the Mule debut of Bob Dylan’s “It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry.” Starr also stuck around for the show-closing performance of Bob Seger’s “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man.”
