Gov’t Mule Announces Blue Note Records Debut

On September 24th Gov’t Mule will release their first studio album in almost four years titled Shout! All 11 songs on Shout! are Mule originals, and have been written over the course of the past two years. Guitar legend Warren Haynes reported that “this album puts the spotlight on the new songs and the way that we interpet them, which hinges on the unique chemistry we’ve had as a band.”

Gov’t Mule is touring in support of the new album – the aptly titled “Prepare to Shout Tour” began a little over a week ago in Danbury, Connecticut – with special guests galore (view the JamBase coverage here) and will continue to hit cities all across Europe and the east coast before wrapping up at the Grand Point North Festival in Burlington, VT.

Warren Haynes is also involved with two other tours, including the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration which includes both the original compositions of Garcia and The Grateful Dead, and collaborative interpretations of the tunes by Haynes and the Garcia Family. The stage line up will include some of the country’s most respected symphonies, and a specially assembled band for all eight concerts. The tour begins June 18th in Pittsburgh, PA. Haynes is also on tour with as a member of The Allman Brothers Band.
