Australian Songsmith Gordi Delivers ‘Like Plasticine’ Gems On CBS ‘Saturday Sessions’
Watch the multi-instrumentalist perform “Lunch At Dune,” “Peripheral Lover” and more.

Gordi (Sophie Payten) performed for CBS’ Saturday Sessions over the weekend. The singer-songwriter offered songs from her upcoming album Like Plasticine, which arrives on August 8.
Along with being a musician, Sophie Payten is also a doctor, receiving a medical degree from The University of New South Wales in 2018. While she left the medical profession to focus on music, Payten went back on call during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gordi released her debut album, Reservoir, in 2017 and followed with Our Two Skins in 2020. More recently, Payten has previewed her first LP in five years, Like Plastecine, with a string of singles.
Gordi performed three of those singles during her appearance on CBS’ Saturday Sessions. “Cutting Room Floor” and “Peripheral Lover” saw Payten on guitar in a trio format while she switched to piano for “Lunch At Dune,” accompanied by violin.
