Goose returned for the second of two nights at the Silver Lake Twin Drive-In in Perry, New York on Wednesday night. The latest show of the quintet’s tour featured their debut cover of Fleet Foxes’ “Innocent Son” within the opening frame.

The Connecticut-based band had a surprise in store to open as they played a slow version of “Tumble.” Next up was “Doobie Song,” a tune Goose premiered in 2019. An expansive cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo” followed along with a 14-minute “Wysteria Lane” making for a 33-minute pairing. Guitarist Rick Mitarotonda then handled lead vocals on Goose’s “Innocent Son” premiere. The five-piece capped the 85-minute set with “The Labyrinth” and “Hot Tea.”

Last night second set began with a cover of Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue” featuring a vocal jam. Goose then dug in on the classic “Creatures.” Next up was “This Old Sea,” a song the band revived during last year’s Bingo Tour after a five-year hiatus. From there, Goose played a well-jammed “Jive II” that bled into “Jive Lee.” Multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach informed the crowd they had once again ran out the clock and wouldn’t return for an encore just as the short-but-sweet “Jive Lee” began.

Goose continues their tour at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio on Friday and Saturday. Livestreams are available for purchase via LiveXLive.
