Google has launched the Chrome Music Lab offering an interactive music experience within the Chrome browser. Part of the company’s ongoing Chrome Experiments, the new tool was launched in conjunction with Music In Our Schools month.
The interactive collection of music experiments allows users to delve into topics such as Rhythm, Chords, Sound Waves, Arpeggios, Strings and Harmonics. It relies on the free-to-use Web Audio API and also offers experiments featuring a Spectrogram, Melody Maker, Voice Spinner (users can add vocals via microphone), Oscillators and more. The microphone input also allows users to upload and manipulate their music as well and the Kandisky experiment turns user-generated drawings into musical sounds.
