Good Charlotte performed their new single, “Rejects,” on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The pop-punk outfit released the song yesterday as the first taste of their forthcoming studio album, Motel Du Cap.

Motel Du Cap, which is set for release on August 8 via Atlantic Records, is the band founded by brothers Joel and Benji Madden’s first new album since 2018’s Generation Rx and eighth overall. “Rejects” arrived accompanied by a video directed by Erik Rojas and Lenna Onto.

Good Charlotte kicked off their new era on Kimmel while smoke filled the bottom of the stage. “Rejects” has a throwback feel of the group’s glory days. “It’s really full-circle because when we made the first record in ‘99, we didn’t know any better than to not give a fuck,” Joel Madden explained regarding the song to Rolling Stone. “We didn’t know you were supposed to give a fuck. We thought it was the greatest thing ever to make a record and to say whatever the fuck we wanted to say. Then you get into the game of the music business and get a little spun around.”
