Phish drummer Jon Fishman, The Meters bassist George Porter Jr. and legendary New Orleans-based percussionist Cyril Neville will take part in two upcoming concerts in Portland, Maine to raise funds for Maine’s Go Big For Hunger charity. The shows will be held at Sun Tiki Studios on March 3 and Bayside Bowl on March 4.

Band Beyond Description will host the pre-jam on March 3 with Fishman, Porter Jr. and Neville among the guests slated to appear. Then, The Maine Dead Project headline the “Big Jam” on March 4 with the three famed musicians and more guests. Other musicians expected to participate over the course of the two-night run include members of SeepeopleS, Rustic Overtones, Hambone and more.

Maine’s Greg Martens launched Go Big For Hunger in 2016. Martens was inspired by Imagine There’s No Hunger, a charity founded to realize John Lennon’s goal of a world without hunger. The money generated from the concerts will help local frontline feeding efforts via the Maine-based Full Plates Full Potential organization.
