Glen Hansard performed a late-afternoon set on the final day of the 2018 installment of the Newport Folk Festival. The Irish singer-songwriter delivered an hour-long performance that featured a mix of songs, stories, guest spots from the likes of The War And Treaty and photographer Danny Clinch and a special moment for a fan. Today, NPR Music shared an official recording of his set.

Hansard opened up his set with “When Your Mind’s Made Up” from the Once soundtrack. From there, the musician would mix material from throughout his career offering up selections from Didn’t He Ramble, Rhythm and Repose and A Season On The Line. Hansard was joined by fiddler player Rosie MacKenzie and Brendan Begley on accordion during his 11-song slot, which included a pair of instrumental foot-stompers. An emotional moment came towards the end of the set as Hansard invited a fan who was holding a “My Dream: Sing With Glen” sign up to the stage to join in on “Her Mercy,” which also featured The War & Treaty.
