Soul artist GIVĒON recently slid behind the physical Tiny Desk Concert space after premiering on the virtual Tiny Desk (Home) Concert in 2021. The singer-songwriter from Long Beach, California brought tracks from his Grammy-nominated album, Beloved, and more from his catalog.

GIVĒON’s second album, Beloved, arrived on July 11 through Epic Records/Not So Fast. The LP is up for Best R&B Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

GIVĒON isolated three tracks from Beloved to perform behind the Tiny Desk beginning with the single, “RATHER BE.” He then turned to deeper cuts “I CAN TELL” and “KEEPER.”

The singer and his band — André Pinckney (bass), Dennard Watson (keys), George “Spanky” McCurdy (drums), Nate Foley (guitar), Sherie Farris (violin), Cameron Johnson (trumpet), Kyla Moscovich (trumpet), Blake Cross (sax) and backing vocalists Camry Jackson, Raphael Smith and Whitney Smith — ended the session with earlier favorites “Like I Want You” and “Heartbreak Anniversary.”
