Next week, accomplished folk artist Gillian Welch will issue a new album Boots No. 1 The Official Revival Bootleg. The record has been made available to stream in its entirety ahead of its official release next Friday thanks to NPR Music’s First Listen series.

Featuring longtime collaborator Dave Rawlings, the new album arrives 20 years after Welch’s debut record Revival was first issued. She and Rawlings culled the analog tapes from the recordings sessions for Revival and came up with 21-tracks for the new release. Renowned session drummer Jim Keltner contributes to an alternate studio version of “Pass You By,” alongside other demos, outtakes and additional archival selections. Some of the songs written by Welch, such as “455 Rocket” and “Dry Town,” were recorded by other musicians but never release by songwriter.
