Gibbz Launches Kickstarter Campaign For Debut Album

Mike Gibney, aka Gibbz, recently completed work on his full-length debut album – Above Water. Gibbz has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the release of it without the help of a big corporate label.

Gibney first came to our attention as Eric Krasno’s longtime guitar tech and as a Bowlive MC. More recently, Gibbz has been building his profile as an artist touring with acts such as Gramatik and Goldfish, and will be opening for Cherub’s extensive Spring tour starting in February. Mike explains why he’s looking to avoid using a corporate label in an essay accompanying the Kickstarter campaign. He’s come up with a number of inventive rewards for contributors including a USB stick containing all music and video content he’s ever created, framed hand-written lyrics, Skype songwriting lessons and more.

The campaign is currently slated to end on Monday, January 4.
