Ghostface Killah Recruits Nas, Busta Rhymes, Raekwon & More For 1st Album In 5 Years

Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah will issue a new solo album, Set The Tone, this Friday, May 10 (a day after his birthday) via Mass Appeal, the hip-hop artist’s first album on the label. The LP announcement comes on the heels of the single, “Scar Tissue,” featuring Nas.

The 19-track Set The Tone also sees guest turns from Ghost’s fellow Wu-Tang members Raekwon and Method Man along with Busta Rhymes, Ye, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Sheek Louch, Jim Jones, Trevor Jackson, October London, Bee-B and more.

While Set The Tone is GFK’s first LP since 2019’s Ghostface Killahs, the hip-hop artist has recently made prominent appearances on Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers as well as Westside Gunn’s 10.

Since releasing his RZA-produced debut solo album, Ironman, in 1996, Ghost has worked his emotionally-charged storytelling into excellent albums like 2000’s Supreme Clientele and 2006’s Fishscale. In the teens, GFK also released standout collaborative albums with the RZA-inspired Adrian Younge (Twelve Reasons To Die) and BADBADNOTGOOD (Sour Soul).

Ghostface Killah now adds another chapter with Set The Tone, previewed with “Scar Tissue” featuring fellow hip-hop legend Nas. Listen below:
