Ghost Light‘s 11th installment of their Full Show Friday series of live recordings features the band’s set from this year’s Rooster Walk Music Festival. The quintet played the event at Pop’s Farm in Martinsville, Virginia on Sunday, May 26.

Guitarists Tom Hamilton and Raina Mullen, drummer Scotty Zwang, keyboardist Holly Bowling and touring bassist Dan Africano split their improv-heavy two-hour set into three seamless sections. The first began with a lengthy “Keep Your Hands To Yourself” that featured a distinct jam on Radiohead’s “The National Anthem” and eventually gave way to “Boy” from Hamilton’s Brothers Past days. An adventurous “Lead Weight” that contained a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Tangled Up In Blue” and the American Babies gem “Old Fashioned” within came next.

The second seamless segment of Ghost Light’s Rooster Walk set started with Mullen fronting the group on “Diamond Eyes,” which featured an impressive segue into the Babies’ “Bullseye Blues.” Ghost Light then worked “I Dare You” into an “Old Time Religion” that sandwiched a reprise of “Tangled Up In Blue.” The five-piece closed out their performance with the end of the “Diamond Eyes” they started over 40 minutes prior.
