George Harrison’s complete catalog of solo studio albums will soon be reissued as the George Harrison – The Vinyl Collection box set. The 18-LP release is set to be issued on February 24, what would have been The Beatles guitarist’s 74th birthday.
The box set features all 12 of Harrison’s solo studio LPs, beginning with 1968’s Wonderwall Music through 2002’s Brainwashed. Harrison’s 1992 Live In Japan live album is part of the box set as are two 12-inch single picture discs of “Got My Mind Set On You” and “When We Was Fab.” The individual reissued records will also be made available separately, with 1970’s landmark triple album All Things Must Pass pressed as a limited edition title.
An extended edition of Harrison’s 1980 biography I Me Mine is included in The Vinyl Collection featuring a retrospective of George’s entire career. The expanded book is made up of 632 pages and boats lyrics to more than 50 songs not previously printed, as well as previously unpublished photographs and more. A limited edition George Harrison Essential III turntable manufactured by Pro-Ject Audio Systems was also announced. Its design was based on a lithograph created for the Harrisons by acclaimed street artist Shepard Fairey.
