Genesis’ Mike Rutherford Hints At US Reunion Tour Dates In November 2021

Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford revealed the legendary band’s reunion tour may come to the U.S. this November. Rutherford discussed the status of the group’s The Last Domino? tour during a recent appearance on Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt’s Rockonteurs podcast.

The first Genesis tour since 2007 was announced in March 2020 and consisted of dates in the U.K. and Ireland. Genesis initially rescheduled the run for April 2021 and earlier this year postponed the tour to September and October 2021 due to the pandemic.

Rutherford and longtime band mates Phil Collins and Tony Banks will be joined by Phil’s son, Nic Collins on drums and touring bassist Daryl Stuermer for the run. As first reported by Genesis News and pointed out by Stereogum, Mike Rutherford weighed in on what’s to come for Genesis towards the end of his guest spot on Rockonteurs.

“I can’t see it at the moment,” Rutherford said in regards to the chances Genesis plays the U.K. and Ireland dates this fall. However, Mike has higher hopes that the tour will hit the U.S. “America might be in November, East Coast. America feels confident, they want to do it,” the guitarist revealed.
