Gene Ween Announces Fall Tour

Next month Aaron Freeman will embark on a fall tour under the Gene Ween moniker. Gener had previously performed under his real name or as FREEMAN for the period between Ween’s 2012 breakup and this year’s Summer Camp Music Festival.

The tour begins at Ottobar in Baltimore on September 23. Gener and his new backing band, which made its debut at Summer Camp, will visit Raleigh, Atlanta, Birmingham, Louisville, St. Louis, Evanston, La Crosse, Minneapolis, Ann Arbor and Toronto before the tour is currently scheduled to conclude at Lovin’ Cup in Rochester on October 7.

Freeman was recently mentioned during a Phish show when guitarist Trey Anastasio made an on-stage plea for Ween to reunite. JamBase reached out to Aaron for comment who simply said, “I thought it was a nice shout out.”
