Geese Lights Up ‘Smoke In Japan’ In Tokyo

The band pulled out the A Beautiful Memory deep cut at the first of two shows at Space Odd.

Geese headed to Japan to play a pair of shows at Space Odd in Tokyo. The initial performance saw the Brooklyn-based band bust out the location-appropriate rarity, “Smoke In Japan.”

Frontman Cameron Winter, who has been studying Japanese, briefly demonstrated what he has learned by speaking Japanese to the Space Odd audience. Winter also altered the lyrics to “Cowboy Nudes” from referencing New York City to mentions of Tokyo.

Thursday’s encore began with the scarcely chosen song, “Smoke In Japan,” which appeared on Geese’s self-released 2018 debut album, A Beautiful Memory.
