Galactic & Widespread Panic Collaborate Again In Kansas City

Widespread Panic summer tour continued last night at the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, where once again Galactic kicked off the festivities and once again members of the New Orleans funk outfit sat in with the Georgia rockers.

Following Galactic’s opening set, Panic took the stage for one lengthy set that ran well over two hours. Drummer Stanton Moore helped out on the evening’s “Drums” segment, which was followed by two songs featuring vocalist Maggie Koerner, Ben Ellman on sax and Corey Henry on trombone. First up was the Panic original “Weight Of The World,” which led into a take on Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put A Spell On You.” John Bell and Maggie Koerner shared vocals on the first Widespread Panic cover of the tune since October 31, 2005.
