New Orleans-based funk group Galactic released a new single entitled “Can’t You Believe.” The track features the band’s co-founder and former vocalist, the late Theryl “Houseman” DeClouet, who passed away last month.
According to a statement from Galactic, the band had been working on “Can’t You Believe” over the past year and chose to release the single following Houseman’s death at the age of 66. The song also features backing vocals provided by Ivan Neville and Eric Falls, as well as trumpeter Shamarr Allen and trombonist Corey Henry. Proceeds from the sales of “Can’t You Believe” will be donated to Houseman’s New Orleans Musician’s Clinic to assist in covering remaining medical and funeral expenses.
