Galactic Announces 2017 Winter Tour

New Orleans-based funk act Galactic has detailed their upcoming 2017 Winter Tour. Presented by SiriusXM Jam On, the group has tapped a number of artists for support at various points on the tour.

Galactic will hold shows with openers Con Brio, The Hip Abduction, The Bright Light Social Hour, Gene Evaro Jr., Andy Frasco and the Funky Meters on select nights throughout February and March. Several dates will be “Evening with Galactic” shows with no support on the bill.

Lincoln, Nebraska’s The Bourbon will host the tour opener with Andy Frasco on February 2. The band will make its way west with two nights in Colorado ahead of shows in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Washington and Oregon. They’ll play two nights in Nevada with The Bright Light Social Hour and Gene Evaro Jr., followed by a gig in Arizona and three nights California – two of which will feature the Funky Meters.

Tipitina’s will be the site of a pair of hometown “evening with” shows on February 25 and 27. Galactic will then head to the East Coast on March 9 to perform at Boston’s House Of Blues with Con Brio joining the tour through the first night at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club on March 17. The Hip Abduction hops on the tour the following night at the 9:30 Club, and will open a number of Midwest shows through the tour closer on March 25 at the House Of Blues in Chicago.
